Who am I: Survivor - Warrior - Dreamer - Helper

HAPPY | SURVIVOR | WARRIOR | DREAMER | HELPER | GUARDIAN OF QUALITY

I am honoured to say, I have pretty much grown up at Wiley. I’ve watched many Wiley people, and their families, grow up too. I can’t talk about myself without mentioning my work life because it has been such a big part of who I am today. Wiley challenges you to grow and supports you all the way. I have grown my confidence and general well-being through Wiley programs. I have overcome fears like riding on a motor bike, conquering claustrophobia, holding snakes (which my boys have as pets), or snorkelling in the open ocean to overcome my fear of sharks.

I am most passionate about… My wonderful man, our 5 gorgeous sons, our 2 grandsons and our [male] Pomerdoodle … Yep, even HE is a male. I am the real-life Snow White!

I learn so much from … my kids. They look at life differently to most. They question everything about the way humans live. They would rather be out hiking than inside watching tv. They are explorers. Creators. I treasure every minute I get with them and love hearing about their mountain climbing experiences, the latest furniture or tiny house they have built, or the latest photography skills they have learnt. Their photography inspires me to create my own way of capturing moments through a lens. But more importantly, my kids teach me to put technology down and just enjoy the moment that is. They teach me to break out of the box our generation tended to put around themselves, and just say ‘yes’ to experiences. And I learn SO much from my dog like how to get excited about the little things … going for a walk, feeling the wind on my face when I get the chance to be a passenger on country drives, going to the dog beach. And how important it is to show you are excited to see a loved one walk through the door after a work day.

To escape all the testosterone, I love listening to all genres of music, including my beloved 80s playlists. Music is very important in my life and has been my inspiration during some tough times. I LOVE getting lost in nature, I am a huge fan of fancy dress parties, love creating unique party settings and travelling to a new country every year.

What’s important to me … Allocating time for intentional learning every day. To grow and push myself. Putting aside time in the early hours to learn meditation and yoga or just to list the ten things I’m grateful for, send good thoughts to people I am struggling with and set my intention of things I want to achieve that day. It is important to me to continually work on my physical and mental wellbeing. Helping others is what I love to do the most and by looking after myself first, I feel strong enough to take on anything to help others.

My plans for the future … As an empty nester, I enjoy spending the kids inheritance and saying yes to everything! Through Wiley, I am also learning to be future focussed and I am really excited about adventures to come.
