This week Wiley attended the St Joseph’s College Coomera opening of their newly built school facilities. These facilities will help to accommodate the growth of their learning community.
Wiley delivered the project in January, which includes four buildings and a new carpark. The buildings consist of General Learning Areas (GLA’s), science room, dance and drama rooms, music practice rooms dedicated sensory learning areas for music, food tech, IDT and art, a library, an amphitheater and student amenities.
His Grace, the Most Reverend Archbishop of Brisbane, Mark Colleridge attended the opening to bless the new facilities.
“A day such as today would not be possible without the generosity of the Queensland Government, the Queensland Catholic Education Commission, Brisbane Catholic Education whom all provided significant funding for this project’s completion. Equally, funds are only as good as those who coordinate their use. As such I acknowledge and give great thanks to Macksey-Rush architects; Bernard Rush and Jacquie Maestracci who’s design work and vision has delivered learning spaces for 21st Century learners and we are happy to partner with them on our next stage. In equal measure sincere thanks must be extended to our Stage 2 builders, Wiley Construction and in particular the project and site leadership of Mr Ken Horner & Mr Richard Forbes. Your skills, communication and understanding of the nuances of school operation, professionalism and construction timeliness has been very much appreciated and made the difficult task of building in an operating school environment not only manageable but enjoyable.” Said Paul Begg, Principal of St Joseph’s College.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved for a great project. We’ve really enjoyed working on this project with the school, our subcontractors and suppliers. It was fantastic to see everyone out to tour the new building and the students enjoying its spaces. Congratulations to St Joseph’s College on a successful opening,” said Ken Horner, Wiley’s Project Manager.
Wiley are proud to continue delivering excellent learning centres to the community across Queensland.
